1.00pm Material Facts presented by Tim McKibbin
This CPD course is 1 hour of compulsory CPD training.
When a real estate agent is told to disclose material facts to a potential buyer or tenant, many ask the question: “So what exactly is a material fact?”
It’s important that you understand your obligations under Schedule 1 of the Property and Stock Agents Regulation 2014 (the General Rules of Conduct) - even though it may seem what constitutes a material fact is not at all straightforward.
This course provides key information on how to discover and disclose a material fact.
Topics include:
- identify prescribed material facts
- describe an agent’s obligation under the law to disclose material facts
- identify issues or matters important to a reasonable person
- identify steps to determine if a prescribed material fact applies to a particular property

3.00pm Supervision Guidelines Manual presented by Tim McKibbin.
The benefit of running your agency to be compliant with the Supervision Guidelines is a stronger and better organised business, more resistant to typical risks in agency practice. The loss of trust and reputation can often cost you and your agency far more than any penalties from non-compliance. Are you willing to take the risk, and the potential huge penalties?
Tim will discuss NSW Fair Trading’s Supervision Guidelines and how REINSW’s Supervision Guidelines Manual can aid agents in ensuring their compliance with these Guidelines.
As the most effective ‘How-to’ guide on the market, Tim will take you through the benefits of using the Supervision Guidelines Manual, helping you implement NSW Fair Trading’s latest Guidelines with ease and efficiency.
At the end of the presentations the audience will be invited to take part in the Compulsory CPD online assessment and Networking Drinks will follow.
