This qualification applies to people working in both residential and commercial property, including business broking, and stock and station transactions.

Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice required by NSW Fair Trading for a Class 2 licence^ 

 

*For Certificate holders completing a cluster of three units of competency will satisfy your annual CPD requirements.
^NOTE: REINSW does not guarantee that NSW Fair Trading will grant a certificate or licence. Applications for licensing are at the sole discretion of NSW Fair Trading.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

Learners will need to complete a total of 18 units of completency being 5 Core Units and 13 Elective Units to obtain the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice. This qualification is broken down into the following clusters for Learners to complete with five (5) of the units counting towards the Learners being able to apply for thier Certificate of Registration with NSW Fair Trading.

  CPPREP4001 - Prepare for professional practice in real estate
  CPPREP4002 - Access and interpret ethical practice in real estate

  CPPREP4004 - Establish marketing profiles in real estate
  CPPREP4005 - Prepare to work in real estate trust accounts

RPL can be undertaken for certificate of registration holders to become Class 2 licence holders (Licensed Real Estate Agent). If you are an experienced agent, you should benefit from this experience, by undertaking recognition of prior learning (RPL). It may reduce the amount of learning required and reduce costs. Learn more.

NSW Traineeships Available

 

A traineeship is Government funded training that allows you to gain practical experience through workplace employment and complete a nationally recognised qualification while obtaining a wage. Traineeships with REINSW are fullly subsidised by NSW Government Smart & Skilled. (www.smartandskilled.nsw.gov.au). Conditions apply. 

REINSW offers traineeships in: 

  • CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, undertaken over 24 months. This allows the trainee, upon completion, to apply to NSW Fair Trading for a Class 2 Real Estate Licence. (providing the other Fair Trading pathways requirements are met). 

This qualifications include the units required by NSW Fair Trading for the Certificate of Registration as an Assistant Agent in real estate. The Cert IV course could lead to a Class 2 License.

Regardless of the mode of delivery, all training and assessment tasks are aimed at confirming your ability to apply acquired knowledge and skills to the workplace. 

Your assessments will include:

Short and extended answer questions Workplace situation activities Workplace skills assessment (Role play)

We encourage you to complete and submit your assessments within two weeks of completing the course, while the information is still fresh in your mind. Learners are required to submit all assessments via the online portal. REINSW recognises the needs of learners and has strategies in place to assist learners who may have difficulties with assessment tasks.

In order to complete assessments, you must have access to: a computer, Microsoft Word (or similar), an email address, the internet and a printer.

Throughout the duration of the course, and after completion of the course, REINSW expert trainers and assessors are available to provide support to learners should they require assistance with any part of their learning.

The assessment marking process takes up to four weeks from the date an assessment is received by REINSW. In most instances, results are available inside of this time frame.
