CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice
RPL can be undertaken for certificate of registration holders to become Class 2 licence holders (Licensed Real Estate Agent).
If you are an experienced agent, you should benefit from this experience, by undertaking recognition of prior learning (RPL). There are three steps for having your experience and expertise recognised to help you attain your goal. Our streamlined 3-step recognition process makes RPL straightforward and affordable.
Study options include: online or in-house for individuals or groups of 5 or more.
Delivery: 3 Step Recognition process: Self-assessment Questionnaire, Review and Competency Conversation, Recognition
Outcome: Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice required by NSW Fair Trading for a Class 2 licence*
Cost: Total cost of RPL is $1800, which allows for two clusters of gap training. It is paid in three monthly installments: a $600 Initial payment on registration, and two further monthly payments directed debited from your credit card.
*NOTE: REINSW does not guarantee that NSW Fair Trading will grant a certificate or licence. Applications for licensing are at the sole discretion of NSW Fair Trading.
If you are unable to gather sufficient evidence to prove your competency, you will have the option to undertake additional training in units or clusters for which you did not have enough evidence. This could be completed via eLearning or in a classroom.
3-step recognition process - For individuals
Step 1 - Self-Assessment Questionnaire
Tell us about your skills, knowledge and experience. This tool will guide you through the steps to complete your self-assessment questionnaire.
Complete the multiple-choice questions and describe your experience in your own words.
Step 2 - Review and Competency Conversation
An assessor will review your self-assessment information to consider your eligibility for RPL.
A competency conversation will be arranged to give you an opportunity to expand on your skills and knowledge and for the assessor to ask questions to verify your knowledge and experience.
You will also be asked to provide supporting documentation and a third-party report from your supervisor or licensed agent to confirm your work history and competence.
Step 3 - Recognition
If you need to complete any gap training or assessment, you can complete this by eLearning or classroom.
It is important to note that recognition for the full qualification is highly unlikely as REINSW considers compliance with legislation and trust accounting are high-risk areas, and so will require you to complete a gap assessment to confirm competency in these areas.
On successful completion of all gap learning and assessment, a transcript and certificate will be issued.

In-house Group Training
If you have a group of five or more who wish to undertake recognition of prior learning, we can come to you. Our Trainer will visit your office or location of your choice to deliver an RPL training and assessment program specifically tailored to meet the needs of your team and agency.
3-step recognition process - For groups
Step 1 - Self-Assessment Questionnaire
This is where the participant tells us about their skills, knowledge and experience so that REINSW can assess their eligibility for the units of competency. The self-assessment questionnaire is to be completed on our learning management portal and must be submitted two weeks prior to the first training session.
Step 2 - Review and Competency Conversation
An assessor will review participant self-assessment information to consider participant eligibility for RPL.
A group competency conversation session will allow the participants to expand on their skills and knowledge and for the assessor to asks questions to verify knowledge and experience.
Step 3 - Training and Assessment
It is important to note that recognition for the full qualification is highly unlikely as REINSW takes the high-risk areas of compliance with legislation and trust accounting very seriously.
The majority of gap training and assessment will be undertaken in group sessions; additional individual training may be required depending on outcome of application.
Participants will also be asked to provide supporting documentation and a third-party report from their supervisor or licensed agent to confirm work history and competence.
On successful completion of all gap learning and assessment, a transcript and certificate will be issued.
